Selecting a Fly Class

One of the more common questions in fly fishing is, “What fly do I use?” With thousands of fly patterns, learning all the patterns available is unrealistic. However, this
class teaches you the different categories of flies, what they represent, and where to fish them. Learning what food and feeding behavior a fly represents will greatly
increase your success in choosing a fly that works. You will also learn what fly patterns represent Mayflies, Caddis, and Stoneflies.
This knowledge will help you narrow down
your choice during various times of the season. This class is highly recommended as a prerequisite to Angler Entomology, which focuses on the hatches in Pisgah Forest.
Participants should bring a snack and a notebook for the class.
