The 20 Miler Relay Race is a team canoe relay covering 20 miles of river in two sections with a mid-race team exchange. Teams of up to four paddlers pair up to paddle each section using Headwaters-provided canoes; lifejackets must be worn for the entire race. The event includes transportation to and from the river if needed, a race-day t-shirt, an after party and awards ceremony with trophies for the top three teams and a prize for best team costume.

1. Check in starts at 9:15am at Headwaters Outfitters; teams must check in 45 minutes prior to their start time.
2. Race starts promptly at 10:00am from Headwaters Outfitters to Island Ford River Access (first section, ~11 miles).
3. Team exchange at Island Ford River Access (halfway point).
4. Second section from Island Ford River Access to Hap Simpson River Park (~9 miles).
5. After race transportation back to Headwaters Outfitters and after party at 2:00pm at the Forks of the River Taproom with awards when teams arrive.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Teams must provide team contact, team name, team member names, and t-shirt sizes. All participants must wear lifejackets for the entire race; teams will be disqualified if lifejackets are not worn.

Race limited to 15 teams. Each relay team may include up to 4 paddlers. All teams must use Headwaters canoes provided. Teams will be disqualified for not wearing lifejackets.

Teams may obtain local business sponsorships; credit card payments will incur tax and credit card fees or teams can pay by cash or check to avoid fees.

Race will start promptly at 10:00am. Transportation to race points can be provided or teams may provide their own. At the end of the race paddlers will be transported back to Headwaters Outfitters. Awards ceremony start time depends on team arrivals.
